Mr. Fahmi is the Co-Head of EFG Hermes Investment Banking, based in Dubai. He joined EFG Hermes Investment Banking in early 2006 after completing the Morgan Stanley Analyst Training program. Mr. Fahmi holds a BA in Accounting and Finance from the American University in Cairo, from where he graduated with high honors.
On the ECM front Mr. Fahmi’s notable transactions include the USD 1.5bn Initial Public Offering of Emaar Malls on the Dubai Financial Market, the USD 750m initial public offering of Dubai Parks and Resorts on the Dubai Financial Market, the USD 1.3bn initial public offering of Emaar Development on the Dubai Financial Market; the USD 850m Initial Public Offering of ADNOC Distribution on the Abu Dhabi Exchange; the USD 120m accelerated book build for HumanSoft on the Kuwaiti Bourse; and the initial public offering of the Cleopatra Hospitals Group on the Egyptian Exchange.
Equally committed to M&A, Mr. Fahmi’s track record also includes the sale of an 18.8% stake in Commercial International Bank (CIB) to Ripplewood; the sale of a 49% stake of Tarek Nour Holding to DDB; the acquisition of Italy’s Forall Group (Pal Zileri) by Al Arafa for Investment and Consultancies; the sale of Olympic Group for Financial Investments to Electrolux AB; the divestiture of PHD Labs by Waha Capital; and the divestiture of Joramco by the Abraaj Group to Dubai Aerospace ENTERPRISE.
Mostafa Gad is Co-Head of EFG Hermes’ Investment Banking Division (IBD) as of 2016. Since 2016, the IBD has executed total equity deals of USD 3.96 Billion, M&A deals of USD 1.86 Billion and Debt deals of USD 629 Million. The team has successfully executed landmark IPOs across different regional and international exchanges including: ADES Group, Dice for sportswear and Raya contact center. Other notable transactions included: advisory on Orange Rights issue, advisory for Sahara North Baria and advisory on Global telecom accelerated book build. Prior to heading the IBD, Mostafa was director of investment banking covering consumer facing sectors. Notable transactions included; the IPO of Edita Food Industries, advisory on the private placement of Wadi Degla Holding, the IPO of Juhayna Food Industries and the IPO of Maridive Oil Services. Mostafa has also successfully closed several M&A transactions, including JTI advisory on the acquisition of a 100% stake in Nakhla Tobacco, advisory on the sale of Schweppes’s stake to Coca Cola and advisory on the sale of Rashidi El-Mizan. Prior to joining EFG Hermes in 2007, Mostafa worked in the Corporate Banking Department at HSBC. He holds a BA in Engineering.
