Within the EFG Hemes headquarters, being environmentally conscious is a constant priority for all employees. Accordingly, a number of initiatives have been adopted within the premises in an attempt to curb environmental risks associated with the firm’s operations and to reduce its environmental footprint.
These initiatives have targeted the decrease of a number of practices within the daily operations of EFG which have a negative impact on the environment. Among them, have been a company-wide campaign to decrease the use of plastic and paper products. In order to do this, EFG Hermes has successfully eliminated the use of plastic cups in a number of its offices across the region. In addition, the firm has encouraged staff and clients alike to reduce their paper usage by opting for digital copies of documents. In order to promote energy saving, all EFG Hermes offices have been fitted with LED lighting instead of regular lightbulbs as well as issued initiatives for employees to be mindful of their energy using habits. EFG Hermes has also implemented a carpooling initiative between employees, which has resulted in a decrease in the firm’s carbon footprint, easing the stress of commuting as well as fostering a sense of community among employees.
